    software for disabilities

Today I look at a document “ Python Powered Accessibility “ , it is mainly about   key accessibility concepts and programs on GNOME , but which impresses me more is the free software for handicapped:

Orca  -- for people with little or no vision to successfully interact with applications, including programs with a graphical user interfaces.

GOK -- provides access for user with physical disabilities by supporting switch input for applications control and text input.

Dasher--provides a highly alternative and unique text input method which is controllable with 2 input states  and vision

Disabilities and Assistive Technologies” is a new word for me .  In those days, the software is designed for customer’ demand, people believe that software is the service. But  until I see this several software which developed for disabilities , I deeply understand that software is the service. Because it can change the Disabilities’s life greatly, make them more confident,  give them the equality as common people to enjoy the benefaction from  informationization. Even for the normal people , assistive software has also a great influence, in our life disabilities can be present from birth, or appear as part of the natural aging process, and are sometimes the result of accident. While disabilities come in , we should  learn the reason, brave and strong , because at least we can “see” .”listen”,”write” and “speak” by "Disabilities and Assistive Technologies”.
